Taichung County Public Health Bureau
Brief History
During the Japanese occupation, the Health Section of the Police Department in Taichung State was in charge of the health and sanitation affairs of the county.
After the restoration of Taiwan, the County Government set up a Health Section under the Bureau of Civil Affairs. In October 1950, administrative divisions of the Province were re-adjusted and the present Taichung County was established. In January 1977, with the new office building completed for the County Government, the old building at No. 498, Chung Shan Road, Fongyuan Township was sold.
The Bureau first moved to No. 21, Si-an Street, Fongyuan City, then to No. 136, Chung-sing Road, Fongyuan City in June 1996. Currently, the Public Health Bureau has 22 health offices spread throughout 21 townships, including Lishan Health Office and the County Institute for Prevention of Chronic Disease.
Based on its core values - being active, caring, practical, and innovative- the Bureau will expand its efforts to help all local residents enjoy a quality and healthy life in an environment where professional medical care is offered.

Important Service
Integrated Household Health Screening Project
The Public Health Bureau is oriented towards Ħ§taking each community as a whole and taking each household as a basic unitĦ¨ and endeavors to establish a comprehensive health care service mechanism in order to enhance quality health management for each household. Public health nurses at each public health center are responsible for visiting each household at their designated district and marking down the results on a household visit record. Service objects and items are divided into four categories based on different age groups.
Denture Implant Subsidiary Plan
Since teeth loss is a serious problem for Taichung County senior citizens who are 70 years of age or above, we will keep carrying out the removable denture and denture implant subsidiary plan for them. Based on the results of oral health screening for senior citizens, we provide removable, fixed or partial removable denture implant services for Taichung County residents who are 70 years old or above.
Digital Mobile Clinic Car
In order to overcome the urban-rural differences in medical resources and to provide homogeneous health care services, HEALTH and HAPPINESS, the first 3-in-1 mobile clinic cars in Taiwan, integrate the functions of digital chest X-ray machine, multi-functional ultrasonic scanner, and vaginal smear examination. The mobile clinic cars play a supporting role to the township/city public health centers to promote the health check-up activity for the county residents. They take the initiative to provide people with health services and venture into outlying and remote areas of the county to offer appropriate and professional health examination services.
Our Vision
